My time here so far at BFTF:)
This is my first post for this blog. 
I am Nicole Huang and I am currently 17 years old. I am from Los Angeles, California. I am really happy that I got this oppurtunity to participate in the BFTF program. Even though we have only been in this program for a little les than a week, I have already learned so much. I learned how to debate, about many different countries that I had never heard of before or know little of, and much more. I learned about a lot of different cultures and how people from different countries are. It is a really fun experience and I have bonded very well with many of the participants of this program, but not all for some separate themselves from the rest of the groupo. Everyone is from different backgrounds but this program brings these differences together so that everyone can understand about others. We are not only having classes but are also having fun at the same time. :) Before and after class is our break time. We can do a variety of things including eating, chatting, and walking. So far, we have done a scavenger hunt, debates, shopping, watching the local baseball game, and many different fun activities.
Although Winston-Salem, North Carolina is in the same country as my city Los Angeles, California, there are many differences between the two. Winston-Salem is a very small town where everything is very close together, making it very convienient. Also, Winston-Salem has a lot more trees and greenery than does Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, there are a lot of different office buildings and it is very big. Also, there are a lot of different ethinicites in Los Angeles, unlike Winston-Salem.
Overall, I am having fun. I am very, very glad that I am part of this program. Without it, I would not have had the chance to meet all the great people that I have met through this program. It has widdened my views of the world, changing it from seeing only Los Angeles to the seeing not just other states in the USA but the world.
